Choose Today
How do you know what is going to happen tomorrow? For the length of your life is uncertain as the morning fog-now you see it; soon it is gone die! James 4:14
Are you often fed up with getting to the end of the day and feeling so frustrated and you know you did something all day but you aren’t sure what it was because it certainly wasn’t what you wanted to do when you got up this morning? The sort of feeling when you get to the end of the day and you are confused because the day is gone yet you cannot figure out what you’ve spent your time on? Then you realize that wasn’t what you wanted to do when you woke up this morning? This has happened to me on a number of occasions and each time I must remind myself that I am the only one who can fix it.
Each day we can do one of two things; we can either complain about the day or work towards making it work. It is not God’s will that we are frustrated and stressed out all the time. It is not His will that we are murmuring and complaining about all the things you have to do when there is no rule that says you have to do everything that everybody expects you to do. There is no Scripture that says that. In fact, the Bible teaches us that we need to manage our time wisely by following the leadership of the Holy Spirit because our time here on earth is but a vapor – here today and gone tomorrow.
Each day we are granted we should use the time God has given you wisely. As James said our time on earth is short. You are called to have a fruitful life not a barren or heavy life. A life in which you live without regrets. One where you have more days when you go to bed in thanksgiving and not in murmuring complaining about the day. Not that it will ever be perfect but you know deep within that today wasn’t a day wasted.
