Hear From God – Part IV
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” Isaiah 30:21
From the moment of man`s fall in the Garden of Eden, the earth has been under a curse (Genesis 3:17), suffering the spiritual rule of Satan (Luke 4:6). But God is also a God of mercy and so our story does not end with the curse. No, through the Son Christ Jesus, we can repent and be restored. God is a restoring God. Whatever our past, we needn’t be stuck there. As we bring ourselves to Him in humility and truth we, like David, can hear the word from His heart to our heart, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.’ We are truly blessed when our sin is forgiven and our transgressions are covered (Psalm. 32:1). Do you need to experience the healing which comes from confession and forgiveness?
God, who is the source of all wisdom and understanding, is our loving heavenly Father and wants to help us, advise us and guide us. Through God we have access to heavenly wisdom and can live a life free from regret. God is reliable and doesn’t change. He does have all the answers. He is interested in every area of our life, whether small or large, daily decisions, our relationships, our homes, our money, our employment, and our health. He uses all sorts of ways to convey His advice to us, such as His Word, His Spirit, a friend, an expert, or circumstances.
Psalm 46 tell us to “Be still” means “take your hands off”. I often need this reminder. Take your hands off, stop trying to fix things yourself. Speak to God and release your fears. Know that He is God and that He goes ahead of you to fight your battles. And He has already won. But so often we are guilty of trying to fix it ourselves and of doing it our way, instead of taking the advice given in Proverbs 3:5-6, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.’
Today lean not unto what you know to be true. Take some time, speak to God and listen for his response to you.
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, thank You that You are always willing to help and to advise. I am sorry for the times I have not sought Your ways but have done things my way or looked elsewhere for help. Please forgive me and help me to rely more on You. Amen.
