The Peace of God Day 2
Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. Psalm 34:14
Today’s morning subtopic ‘Seek God’s Peace’ invites us to be actively engaging with the Peacemaker. It invites us to take an active role in seeking and promoting peace. Psalm 34:14 urges us to turn from evil and intentionally pursue peace. This reminds us that peace doesn’t come by accident; it requires effort, humility, and a willingness to walk in obedience to God’s Word.
For our evening session we are encouraged to read Proverbs 12:20. Proverbs 12:20 adds another layer—true joy is found when we plan for peace, not discord. How often do we find ourselves in situations where discord is tempting? It might be easier to hold onto a grudge, escalate a conflict, or speak harshly. But God calls us to a higher standard. Instead of being reactive, we are to be proactive peacemakers.
Today as you meditate on His Word, think about the context of these verses and ask God to show you practical ways to be a peacemaker.
Prayer for today: Father, You are the God of peace, and You call us to seek and pursue it. Help us to turn from actions and words that sow discord, and instead, let us be instruments of Your peace. Teach us to walk in humility and love, building bridges where there are divides. May Your peace flow through us and bring joy to those around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
