Strengthen in the Lord
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10
Ephesians 6:10 begins with the command, “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” This simple yet profound statement highlights something crucial: the fact that we are told to be strong means we have the capacity to be weak. Life can drain us, and our strength can fail. Whether it’s from the struggles of daily life, unexpected hardships, or our internal battles, we often find ourselves in a place of weakness. But in this weakness, the beauty of this verse shines even brighter. God doesn’t expect us to muster up strength on our own; He tells us exactly where we can find the strength we need—in Him.
The instruction here is not to be strong in ourselves or in our own ability, but to be strong in the Lord. In moments where we feel drained or overwhelmed, it’s easy to turn to the wrong sources for strength—whether it’s through distractions, people, or even our own stubborn determination. However, Paul reminds us that our true source of strength is God’s mighty power. It’s in our surrender to Him that we are truly fortified.
Today, if you find yourself weary or facing a situation where your strength feels inadequate, remember that your power comes from the Lord. His strength is perfect, especially in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Instead of striving on your own, turn to God, and let His mighty power sustain you. In Him, we find the strength to face any battle.
Be strong in the Lord, what does it mean? This verse is commanding us to be strong in all that we do as it connects with God. Be strong in your walk with the Lord. B strong in your faith in the Lord. Be strong in your communications with the Lord. Be steadfast in these things. Run to Jesus today, for He has all the power that we would ever need in this world.
Prayer for today: Lord, I thank You that no matter what season I am in, You are with me. I am grateful for the reminder to be strong not in my power, but be strong in You. Holy Spirit give me the power that I need to be strong and face the enemy who is always after me. With You, I know that I can defeat all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
