Returning to the Healer, Part II
Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces; now he will heal us. He has injured us; now he will bandage our wounds. Hosea 6:1
The promise in this verse is beautiful: “Now He will heal us… now He will bandage our wounds.” God doesn’t leave us in our brokenness. He is the Great Physician, and His goal is always to bring wholeness. When we return to Him, He restores us, bandaging our wounds, and making us new. The same God who allows the storm is the One who calms it. He is both the breaker and the healer.
So, what do we do in our brokenness? We return. We return to the One who knows our wounds better than anyone else. We return to the God who doesn’t just watch from afar but steps into our pain to bring us back to wholeness. We stop running from the discipline and turn back to the healing hands of the Father.
Today I ask the question, are you going through a season where you feel broken or torn apart? If so, take a moment to reflect on how God might be using this time to bring you closer to Him. Think about a time when you experienced deep pain or loss. How did God heal and restore you through that season? If you’re still in that season, pray for the strength to trust His healing process. Is there something in your life that you need to return to God with? Take time today to bring it before Him in prayer, trusting that He is ready to heal and restore. Whatever the answer to the above questions, I want you to know that God is able!
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, in my brokenness, I return to You. I know that You see the torn places in my heart, the wounds that have left me feeling weak. I trust You to heal me, to bind up my wounds, and to restore what’s been lost. Thank You for being the God who doesn’t just tear down but builds up again in love. Help me to walk in the wholeness You offer, and give me the strength to trust You, even when I don’t understand. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
