Bless Those Who Persecute You
Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Romans 12:14
Think back to an unresolved conflict you’ve experienced. Maybe it was with a friend, spouse, family member, or coworker who wronged you. Reflect on the anger, frustration, and sense of injustice you felt. Perhaps you still feel those emotions today when you think about that situation. Let’s face it, in this life, conflict is inevitable. Being a believer doesn’t shield us from these challenges. The difference lies in how we respond to them. The Bible calls us to a different response, Romans 12:14 says we ought to “Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them.”
Conflict without grace and forgiveness is like a small hole in the fabric of our emotions that seems to tear larger and larger with every passing day. Anger, when left unresolved, can fester and grow, creating even more pain. Today, take some time to bring before God any conflict that still lingers in your heart.
What past conflicts still stir anger or frustration within you?
Have you allowed those feelings to go unresolved for too long?
As you pray, ask God to reveal where unresolved anger might be holding you back from peace and to help you let go of it.
Prayer for today: Lord, I come to You with the hurt and anger I’ve been holding onto. Help me to let go of the resentment and bring healing to these broken areas of my heart. Teach me how to respond to conflict in a way that honors You. Amen.
