Finding Peace in Christ
Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Romans 12:14
The foundation of Romans 12 verse 14 is that God will have the final say and that should bring us peace. Even when conflicts remain unresolved, we can find peace in Christ. His peace is not dependent on our circumstances; it’s a deep, abiding peace that comes from knowing that He is with us, even in the midst of turmoil. We are reminded that no matter how others treat us, we belong to Him, and He will bring healing and justice in His time. If you’ve done all you can to resolve a conflict but there’s no reconciliation yet, trust in God’s peace to guard your heart.
Pursuing peace is not always easy. Some people may seem impossible to reconcile with, but Paul urges us to do our part. We may not control others’ responses, but we are responsible for our own efforts to bring peace and live in harmony.
So how can you find peace? Well start by meditating on Jesus’ teaching on forgiveness and grace. As you read what God has to say, ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with the desire to be like Jesus and obey His word. As you spend time in God’s presence, allowing His love and grace to mold you into the likeness of Jessus then you will experience His peace like no other.
Understanding that God will fight our battles brings about peace. We are more like Christ when we sit back and depend on God instead of taking matters into our own hands.
Prayer for today: God, give me the wisdom and strength to pursue peace in all my relationships. Help me to be a peacemaker in every situation.
