When Words Fail, Choose to Pray
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. Romans 8:26
Prayer is also a choice to turn toward God rather than away from Him. When hurt or confusion tempts you to retreat or lash out, choose instead to let your silence become a prayer. In those quiet moments, invite God into your pain, your questions, your confusion. Let Him be your refuge and your strength. He is there, ready to comfort, guide, and carry you through whatever you’re facing.
Hurt is an inevitable part of life, and it comes in many forms. Sometimes, the pain we experience is self-inflicted, stemming from our own mistakes, poor choices, or regrets. Other times, it comes from the outside—from the harsh words of a friend, the betrayal of a loved one, or the unfair treatment from a coworker. Whether the hurt is caused by our own actions or by others, the pain is real, and it can leave us feeling broken, confused, and alone. Yet, in these moments, when life hurts, the best thing we can do is just pray.
The next time you find yourself at a loss for words—whether from hurt, confusion, or overwhelming circumstances—take a moment to simply sit in God’s presence. Allow the Holy Spirit to intercede for you, trusting that God knows your heart. Let your silence be a prayer, and rest in the assurance that God hears you.
Prayer for today: Lord, today I am grateful that You are never to far from me. You are always just a prayer away. When I feel overwhelmed, I know that I can call on You and You will be there. Thank You for lending me Your strength during these times. To You be all the glory, honor and praise. Amen
