Thanksgiving for God’s Peace
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 107:1
As a follower of Christ when we understand that God’s peace is all we need. The psalmist opens with a call to give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and enduring love. How can the Psalmist give thanks when life is hard, well that is because the Psalmist understands that God is the peace that we all need. When we begin our prayers with thanksgiving, we shift our focus from our problems to God’s faithfulness. And when we understand He is faithful, we receive peace.
Psalm 107 reminds us that God’s goodness is not dependent on our circumstances but on His unchanging nature. Remember the times God has answered your prayers, provided for your needs, and brought comfort during hardships. Each of these moments is a testament to His goodness and love.
Today I encourage you to make a list of ten things you are thankful for today. Reflect on how each one demonstrates God’s love and faithfulness in your life.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unwavering goodness and enduring love. Help me to always remember Your faithfulness and to give thanks in all circumstances. Fill my heart with gratitude and remind me of Your presence in every situation. Help me to seek you and when I remind me that I also receive your peace. Amen.
