The Call to Go
And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Mark 16:15
I recently read a story of a young girl named Ana who grew up hearing stories of Jesus and His love for the world, but she never imagined that one day she would be called to share that love with others.
One summer afternoon, as Ana sat by the river, she felt a stirring in her heart—a sense that God was calling her to something greater. At first, she resisted the idea, feeling inadequate and unqualified. But as the days passed, the call grew stronger, until Ana could no longer ignore it.
With trembling hands and a leap of faith, Ana stepped out to obey the call. She began by sharing the Good News with her family and friends, telling them of Jesus’ love and sacrifice. Despite her fears and doubts, Ana found that the words came easily, as if God Himself were speaking through her.
In Mark 16:15, Jesus gives us a similar command—to go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Like Ana, we may feel inadequate or unqualified for the task, but God promises to equip us with everything we need to fulfill His purpose.
Today, as we reflect on Jesus’ commission, let us remember that the call to go is not just for missionaries, evangelists or pastors only—it is for each one of us. Whether we find ourselves in bustling cities or remote villages, in schools, workplaces, or neighborhoods, we have been entrusted with the greatest message of all time—the message of Jesus’ love and salvation.
May we, like Ana, embrace the call to go and share the Good News with boldness and courage. And may we trust in the power of God’s Spirit to work through us, transforming hearts and lives for His glory.
Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, thank You for calling us to be ambassadors of Your love and grace. Give us the courage to step out in faith, knowing that You are with us every step of the way. Use us, Lord, to share the Good News with those around us, that many may come to know You and experience the joy of salvation. Amen
