God’s Compassionate Love
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. Psalm 103:13
Psalm 103 perfectly captures the essence of God’s fatherly nature. The psalmist describes God as having a fatherly nature when he writes about God’s tender compassion toward His children. For example, David writes, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:13). He is compassionate toward us because “he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust” (Psalm 103:14).
God’s love is compassionate and tender. Like a loving father, He cares for us with deep compassion and understanding. Recall a time when you experienced God’s compassion in a difficult situation, providing you with comfort and strength when you needed it most.
Prayer for today: Compassionate Father, I thank you for your compassionate love that comforts and sustains me. May I rest in the assurance of your care and compassion, knowing that you are always near. Amen.
