Morning Praise
I will shout for joy and sing your praises, for you have ransomed me. Psalm 71:23
Do you realize that the first chords you strike in the morning shape the melody of your entire day? In the Old Testament, sweet incense wafted every morning and evening in the Tabernacle—a fragrant meeting place between God and His children. So, what wisdom does the Bible impart about commencing your mornings with prayer and the Lord? Let’s explore:
☀️”Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you, I entrust my life.” – Psalm 143:8
☀️”The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” – Lamentations 3:22–23
☀️”It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfulness in the evening.” – Psalm 92:2
☀️”Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” – Mark 1:35
Each morning, Jesus invites us to offer heartfelt praise and worship. That’s why morning prayers are optimal. Before your thoughts whirl into chaos, before gratitude morphs into complaint, and before weariness takes hold, let the sweet fragrance of praise ascend for the sheer blessing of another day.
Be encouraged as the morning unfolds and release the sweet aroma of praise. Even if things aren’t perfect, even if the only thing you’ve got going for you today is life; celebrate it! You’ve crossed from 2023 into 2024, that alone is reason enough to thank God. Psalm 30:5 says, “Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.” Rejoice that morning has arrived. It’s a new day to give God the praise He deserves.
Before the bustling day concludes, not as a mere routine but as a joyful offering, present the sacrifice of praise. Set your prayer of gratitude before the Lord each and every day.
