Transformation Thoughts
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. Isaiah 55:8
Today’s verse is one of those good reminders in the book of Isaiah that God is so different from us. And if we’re not careful, we are prone to miss this on a daily basis. So, when we hear God say in Isaiah 55 8–9, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” we need to be reminded that there’s a way that we are prone to think that is so different from the way God is prone to think. There’s a way we’re prone to live that is so different from the way God wants us to live.
Isaiah offers us a reminder that we should cling to His Word in the good, during the bad, and the ugly moments of life understanding that God’s thoughts, plans, ways, route of travel, methods, and strategies are beyond our limited thinking. They go where we could have never dreamed. They are accomplished in ways that surpass any and all expectations that we ever had. And this is wonderful. Because He wouldn’t be the God of all things if we could wrap our minds around Him.
No one! No one completely knows the mind of God, and no one completely understands the mind of God. We must simply accept this on faith. We often can’t see with our natural eyes what God has planned. But when we have the heart of God and the eyes of faith, when we trust God, then we can trust in God and we realize that your breakthrough has arrived.
So, if things don’t look promising today, if everything seems rather stormy in your life, remember that God hasn’t left you. He is right there trying to tell you to ride out your storm; the rainbow isn’t far away. You shall dance with joy again!
Prayer for today: Thank you Lord that Your ways are higher than what I can see. Because right now, my lenses are crowded with discouragement. Yet still I continue to trust in You because you are infinitely bigger than all I can ask or think. Amen
