God Alone
I depend on God alone; I put my hope in him. Psalm 62:5
What is the true essence of declaring, “I depend on God”? Dependence on God signifies our recognition of our need for Him and our understanding that without His presence, we are incapable of achieving anything of significant value in His Kingdom. Relying on Jesus serves as the gateway to a life filled with faith and productivity. It entails being transformed by the Lord’s teachings and mindset, enabling us to trust in Him for wisdom and discernment. As believers, we comprehend that nothing in life surpasses the importance of cultivating a deep and meaningful relationship with God. Consequently, it is unsurprising that once this foundation is established, all other aspects of life and relationships naturally fall into their proper places.
In our Scripture for today we are encouraged to come to the Lord for his navigational instructions and place all our expectations in Him. In God we can find the path He has set out before us for the next season of our lives. Without His guidance we will always finish up stranded a long way away from shore.
You can be super talented or super intelligent, but the absence of God in your life makes you lonely because it leaves a void that only He can fill. Your journey might be loaded with success and great accomplishments, but you must remember that life is a two course meal. We are indeed here for today but we prepare for tomorrow. We must use our actions “here” to determine where “there” is. As a matter of fact, there won’t be a “there” if our “here” is not in communion with God.
Prayer for today: Lord, today I choose to lean into You. I depend on You alone. Help me Lord, to not only listen to Your voice but to obey Your instructions. Amen.
