Talk to God
O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. Psalm 139:1
David the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 139 (NLT), “O Lord, You have examined my heart and know everything about me”. That means God knows everything perfectly—God doesn’t just know about stuff, He knows you. His knowledge is personal. He has examined you until He knows you thoroughly. There are those, I suppose, who think that because they have hidden something from others, they have hidden it from God. Nothing could be further from the truth. There is nothing hidden from the knowledge of God.
Remember God knows our darkest thoughts, anxieties, and fears. He created us to enjoy a relationship with him. When you need someone to talk to about your problems, the Father is always there to listen. You may be thinking that this is all well and good, but you still crave human companionship. When you seek intimacy with God first, he will give you everything that you need including a human friend, and possibly a soul mate. God will provide you just the right person to talk to. Ask him to bring someone into your life to share life’s experiences with you.
The potter doesn’t only create; he also fixes broken things. God takes the broken pieces of our lives and reshapes us with his loving hands. But, before he can do that, you have to be willing to give him the pieces: your anger, resentment, hopelessness, despair and frustration.
