Pass It On
But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. James 1:22
In the Old Testament, King Solomon reminds us that “wisdom” which is found in God’s Word is the key to living. In all our getting, get Godly wisdom and understanding. Then and only then will we find life! The wisdom that Solomon speaks about having learned from his father is the wisdom that gives us the ability to act according to God’s knowledge in daily making the right decisions in life.
Reflecting on what his father, David taught him, Solomon shared these same words with each generation in this book of wisdom called Proverbs. The goal in obtaining wisdom is, as we learn it, to pass it on to the next generation. Remember, our future generations have to see the example in us first to begin to understand and exemplify it.
Solomon tells us that “wisdom” was passed down to him from his father. David had to have it in him before he could impart it to Solomon. Same with us. We are responsible for introducing future generations to God, teaching them to grow in the fear of the Lord and embrace the love of the Father.
What seeds are you sowing into our future?
