Monday Morning Manna
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
There are so many people today across the world who are going through the toughest time of their lives, as COVID-19 wreaks havoc across our nations. However, we thank God that the church remains to be a sure foundation of hope and truth. Yesterday from Rev. Dr. Orville Harris shared with us an encouraging message of hope from Jeremiah 29:8-12 and Jeremiah 23:5, 6. Dr. Harris word focused on Worship in a Time of Hope.
Pastor Harris shared with us, if the devil is chasing you, you can run into Gods arms but where do you go if God is chasing you? You begin to praise God. Psalm 34:1 says “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praises shall continually e in my mouth.” We were reminded that our circumstances should not dictate our relationship nor the quality of our praise to God.
As believers, we ought to be so high in our praise that even when we are at the lowest point in our lives, we can still find enough strength and faith to say, “I will bless the Lord at all times.”
While we are living in uncertain and unstable days, just like the exiles in Babylon, this one thing we know God is in control. In these days we need to keep our eyes on Jesus, for we have an anchor that keeps the soul. This week may you find the strength to encourage someone else to come on up a little higher, may we like Peter encourage someone to rise up in saying, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” (Acts 3:6)
Prayer for today: Thank you, Dear Lord, You are the Alpha and Omega. You have been our beginning and will be our end. We thank You that whatever the future holds for each one of us You’re the one who holds the future. Help us, therefore, whatever we go through, whatever road You choose for us during this time of crisis to journey on, to keep our eyes firmly fixed on You. For You’re the rock that cannot be moved, and in You we are secure. Amen.
