Glorify God
I will praise God’s name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30
Have you ever been in a situation where you felt like a simple “thank you” wasn’t enough to express how thankful you really felt? Maybe someone returned your lost wallet, mentored you and helped you turn your life around, or saved a loved one’s life. You feel an overflow of gratitude and wish you could repay them.
That’s how Paul felt when he received an encouraging report from Timothy regarding the faith of the church in Thessalonica. Paul was so moved by their faith he poses a question many of us wrestle with:
How can we possibly thank God enough for the joy He gives us? Today’s verse tells us how.
“30 Then I will praise God’s name with singing,
and I will honor him with thanksgiving.
31 For this will please the Lord more than sacrificing cattle,
more than presenting a bull with its horns and hooves.” – Psalm 69:30-31
We can’t repay God for what He gives, but we can glorify Him through how we live. We can show gratitude to Jesus and the people who have invested in us, by staying firm in our walks with Jesus, following Him the best we can, and putting wisdom into practice every day.
Today, praise God for the victory He has given even if you are praising in the dark. Why? Because we know He is a miracle-working God. Even when He doesn’t come through on our time, He is still an on-time God. Give thanks and enjoy the overflowing of blessings from the Lord. Give thanks and be blessed in all that you do. Don’t give up. Don’t stop praying! Don’t stop believing! Stay full of hope and expectation. God’s power is limitless, and He’ll break through for you at just the right time.
