We Must Pray
Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession. Psalm 2:8
Bill Hybels wrote a book titled ‘Too Busy Not to Pray: Slowing Down to Be With God’. This book focuses on creating a space to intentionally slow down and spend time talking to God. Its pages are filled with the subject of prayer, and we can open any of them to any page, read any paragraph, and be convicted, encouraged, and motivated to pray.
In this book he writes: “God doesn’t want us to pile up impressive phrases. He doesn’t want us to use words without thinking about their meaning. He wants us to talk to him as a friend or father—authentically, reverently, personally, earnestly. I heard a man do this once when I least expected it.”
In this life, everything depends upon prayer, yet often we get so busy with life that we forget to pray. Don’t be too busy that you do not pray. The role prayer plays in our lives as overcomers is essential. Fervent, consistent prayer keeps us close to God and will help us resist Satan’s attempts at discouraging our walk. Prayer disinfects the air around us and advances God’s cause on the earth.
