Our Enemy
Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.” Number 20:12
There is a battle going on. The scripture tells us that our adversary, the devil, is on the prowl seeking for someone to devour. Numbers 20:1-13, gives us the account of Moses doing what he thought was right, instead of following the instructions from God. Moses gave into the flesh and hit the rock instead of leaning on the spirit, depending on God and speaking to the rock.
In order to defeat the devil we must first know how he works. In order for us to silence the lies and embrace the freeing affirmation of God we must crush the voice of the one seeking to devour the promises of God. We must learn how to live our truth no matter what is going on in our lives. No matter what our flesh tells us to do, or how good it makes it feel. As a follower of Christ we should always pray ‘Thy will be done’ even when it does make sense. We must ask God daily to direct our thoughts and govern our actions. We must take control of our thoughts and make them subject to the Word of God. Then and only then will we be able to fight back as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did when He walked this earth.
