God’s Call
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20
‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock…’ is one of the most well-known verses in Scripture. Thousands of sermons are closed each year using these words, when making an appeal for people to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. I thank God for these words and the many others written in the book of life (The Bible).
Let us rejoice that the message of the gospel remains alive today as it was over 2,00 years ago. Lives are still being transformed, hearts are still being mended, and healing continues to happen all in the name of Jesus. If we were to respond enthusiastically to the knocking of the Savior and welcome Him in, then we too will begin to see God working in our lives.
Prayer for today: Thank you Lord that you still knock on the door of our hearts, even when we have turned our back on you in the past. I want you to be Lord of my whole life and I invite you to come in and reign in every area of my being. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
