A Correct Signal – Part 2
Fix your thoughts on what is true and honourable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8
Yesterday we talked about satellite dishes there purpose and function. One thing I did leave for today is the direction of the satellite dish.
Jesus calls us to follow Him, but we like to think that we know better and choose to go our own way. Far too often we are pointed in the wrong direction and so receiving mixed signals. Like the satellite dish we always need to be aimed in the right direction to receive the correct signals i.e. we have to be looking to and listening to the Lord.
Also the dishes as they are used on the homes to receive signals must be secure (anchored). If the dish is loose a strong wind (trails) can give a very distorted picture and sometimes lose the signal altogether. The lesson for us here is to make certain that we are standing secure in Him, so that, in whatever comes against us, not only are we able to receive the correct signal from Him, but we are also able to display the right undistorted image to benefit others.
‘So if you think you are standing firm be careful that you don’t fall.’ 1 Corinthians 10:12).
Prayer for today: Dearest Father, my heart’s is to remain in You. I know You long for me to mature in my Christian faith, so today I make myself wholly available to You and say, “have Your way, Lord.” Amen.
