Come Boldly
So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16
Doesn’t it make you feel happy and comforted to know that God sees, hears and knows everything? God is not deaf or blind, He cannot be bribed, and He cannot be manipulated nor fooled. Well, only when we fully grasp and understand that fact will we be able to rest in peace or be able to stand still and allow God to have his way in the affairs of our lives and that of the world.
For God to do His best work in us, there is more we need to give to Him than our pain and losses, as costly as that often is. We need to also relinquish the carnal responses to those losses and injustices in our lives – things like, unforgiveness, bitterness, that voice in us that cries out for something to somehow balance out the injustice, the ‘it’s not fair’, ‘I want it fixed’ and ‘I want it fixed my way!’ In a sense, that means relinquishing ourselves to the Lord. And that’s so much harder, because there is something in us that rises up, demanding our rights, especially when we have suffered injustice and loss.
God does not operate like man. His thoughts and ways surpass that of man. They are way higher. He allows things to happen for a time and for a purpose. He not only knows what was, and what is, he also knows what will be. With this truth, despite what you may feel today know that our God remains in control. God holds us in the palm of His hands and He is directing every situation we face to its own end and to His glory. We need to rest our faith on the fact of God’s sovereignty over the details of our lives. He knows what He is doing and He is doing it.
Prayer for today: Thank You Lord lending me Your strength needed to stand. Please show me any hidden responses in me, carnal responses of unforgiveness, bitterness, desire for revenge or anything else that I am holding on to. Bring about Your redemptive plan in my life so that I might give glory back to You. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
