Christ Our Intercessor
Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25
Where and when do you pray? Do you pray when you are in need? Do you pray on Sunday’s, following the lead of the speaker? Do you pray on others behalf in their time of need? Do you pray each day a prayer of thanksgiving? Regardless of what your answer is to this question, the fact is we ought to pray. Jesus took it further. He sought out a quiet place where He could be alone with God, where He could open His heart. He needed to hear from the Father.
In today’s verse we’re told that Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father continually interceding for us. This doesn’t mean He’s on His knees all day long constantly praying for us and the world. But we know that His once and for all sacrifice on the cross still stands today as it did over 2,000 years ago. Jesus is the answer to our prayers because of who He is and what He did. He submitted Himself to death so that he could take us with Him when He was reunited with the Father. He became the answer to all our prayers as He submitted to God.
