A Change
I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 1 Corinthians 15:50
Do you know that God can use you right where you are? You do not need any fancy title or eloquent words, or expensive apparel, all you need is a willing heart. God can use your willingness to speak, your uplifting post, your words, your phone call, your random visit, or your text messages of encouragement, or any form of outreach to bring someone within the sound of the gospel this Sunday.
Resurrection weekend represents an important time for the believer. And I encourage you to be intentional about sharing this good news with someone today.
First, use your smile. When someone asks, “How are you today?” Smile and reply, “If I were any better, I’d be medicated”…and then smile again so they know it is a joke. No one runs away from a friendly face.
Second, appeal to someone’s sense of diversity. For instance, members of Cornerstone Christian Educational Ministries could say something like, “How would you like to experience a different kind of worship service this Sunday?” For those who’ve been to our church you know that there is nothing ordinary about our services.
Third, sometimes we just have to be bold about it. Just jump right in and say, “I don’t know if you have a place to attend church this Sunday, but I sure would like to invite you to my church!”
I will inform you of this. 1 in every 5 persons do not have a place to worship this Sunday so no, you aren’t speaking out of terms. Of course—this only works if you really love your church, so be excited about it as you share with them the invite. Don’t forget that smile!
Lastly, use all the resources available to you: Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Email, Text message, phone call, or a good old fashion face to face invite. God bless you as you invite friends, neighbors, relatives, co-workers, or complete strangers to hear the gospel spoken on Sunday!
