Faith and Joy
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1
There is a big difference between joy and happiness. Happiness is great, but we can get happiness from a lot of things, even earthly things. Joy, on the other hand, is a long-lasting state of being. Joy is promised by God and works off our faith. Joy is rooted in who God is.
Hebrews 11:1 tells us, ‘Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.’ Faith is much more than feelings, which can fluctuate depending on how things are going for us at any particular moment. To have faith is to believe God created the world and sent His only Son to die for our sins so we might have eternal life. Having faith in Christ should influence the way we live.
Every day we come to Him for grace, and He is faithful to give us grace upon grace upon grace. When we are quick to confess and forgive, we can move forward in the freedom of a repentant life in Christ.
