Speak Life
Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. Psalm 42:5
In his song, Speak Life Toby Mac says “Hope can live or die. So speak life, speak life. To the deadest darkest night. Speak life, speak life. When the sun won’t shine and you don’t know why.” These lyrics remind me of the words written by David in today’s verse Psalm 42:5 “Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.” Life and death are in the power of the tongue. If we consider our words when speaking, or typing them, then we can speak life to dead situations in our life.
Today, release your faith through your words! Do not dig your own grave. With the words that you say or don’t say you can choose to build or break. If you call it the old ball and chain then it will feel like the old ball and chain. If you call the demands of your life stressful then it will seem stressful. Then no matter how He changes things, because of your words you will make it feel like what you have it to be.
“Death and life is in the power of the tongue…….” Proverbs 18:21. Therefore we must change our words and change our sight. Call it healed! Call it blessed! Call it an opportunity! Call it a growth pattern! Claim it to be overcome! Call it what you will have it to be and allow God to speak life into it.
