You Are An Overcomer
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. Psalm 145:13
Last week ABC premiered a series, Women of the Movement, centered on Mamie Till-Mobley, the mother of Emmett Till. We know that the murder of Emmett till was the foundation of the Civil Rights Movement. Such a timely series as this year makes 52 years since the killing of Martin Luther King Jr. We shall overcome, the famous phrase echoed in Dr. King’s 1968 speech. His speech talks of overcoming and of discovering hope and a future amid the challenges of today. Sounds familiar doesn’t it?
When you study the Bible you understand this very well. We should not expect an easy life. The Bible is true to real life. Life involves many struggles, trials, tests, temptations, difficulties and battles. Yet, in Christ you can be an overcomer.
What are you battling today? Did you get blind-sided with bad news? Are you struggling physically, financially, emotionally, or relationally? Do you feel as though your world is caving in and no matter what you try you can’t seem to get ahead? Call upon the One who is able to keep us through it all. Cry out to a living God who loves you! Reach up to Him and He will pull you up. Through Him, we can overcome!
