Jesus the hope of Christmas
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
The birth of Jesus Christ, who is God’s salvation, brought the light that offers hope to a world of despair. The means by which He instills His hope within us is by “the power of the Holy Spirit.” The evidence of the presence of His hope is being filled “with all joy and peace in believing.”
The source of our hope is “the God of hope.”
God loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to make a way for us to have a relationship with Him. Jesus is the object and source of our hope. This is why Christmas is so important. Without Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection, our sins would not be forgiven. We would still be apart from God, like a child lost in the hustle of the Christmas shopping season.
Prayer for today: God thank You for sending us Your Son. Jesus is the reason I can have hope in all circumstances. Amen.
