Amazing Faith
“Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” Luke 8:48
The woman with the issue of blood (Luke 8:40-48) was someone a great need. For most of her life she had suffered with this ailment and even though she had spent everything she had on seeking a cure, no one had been able to help her. It is no surprised that she pressed her way to Jesus, she was desperate to experience a miracle
Matthew’s gospel tells us that she said, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” (Matthew 9:21) She believed that the Lord could heal her and would heal her if she touched His garment. Isn’t that amazing? Hundreds of people were pressing against Jesus but only one person’s touch caught His attention. When she touched Him, Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” Peter could not understand His question and said, “Everyone is touching You. How can you therefore ask ‘Who touched Me?’ ” But Jesus replied, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.”
This woman’s great faith drew power from Jesus. It was from this one touch the woman received physical healing. We too have the power to touch Jesus. Through prayers, we too have the power to touch Jesus. Every prayer should be an attempt to touch the hem of His garment. Today, let your prayer go out in faith that expects to receive an answer.
