The Burden Bearer
And so in Judah it was said: “The strength of the burden bearers is failing, yet there is much rubble; and we ourselves are unable to rebuild the wall.” Nehemiah 4:10
These powerful words spoken long ago were written down for our encouragement. The question I ask today is – where do you see yourself in this passage? Are you a watchman on the wall making intercessions for those who are doing the work? Who are those doing the work today? These are the mouthpieces of God, the laymen, and women. Those who answered the call. No matter the position God has placed you in; your role is imperative to the Kingdom of God.
I think some believe the work of an intercessor is easy. How could their burden be easy or light? They take on the yoke of their Savior who gives them strength. Otherwise, they would be crushed by the weight of the burdens they bear for the people God gives them. “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.” “When we are weak; God is strong.” He is a very present help in times of trouble.
“God is our refuge and strength.” It is in His strength we can carry the cares of others. Without Him, we would be nothing. Without Him, all intercessors would surely fail every burden they are asked to carry. In the flesh, it is crushing however in the Spirit, we will prevail over the enemy. Faith and trust in Jesus is the victory always.
Our God shall supply all of our needs (emotionally, physically, and spiritually) according to His riches in Christ Jesus. Stop worrying and pray before a God who waits to hear from you. Burden bearer; He will give you the strength you long for. Seek Him. Seek His face.
