A Dangerous Weapon – Part III
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:12
In Joyce Meyer’s book, Battlefield of the Mind: Winning the Battle in Your Mind she writes “Patience is not the ability to wait but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.” Your mind when it is focused on God is a dangerous weapon. When war starts to wage in your mind, the enemy will use every tool in his arsenal to weaken your relationship with God. The enemy will plot, confuse you, and create destructive thoughts to distract you from the truths of God. The enemy will assault your mind with cleverly, almost plausible, thoughts of dissatisfaction, doubts and fears. However, we can fight these off using the weapons given to us by Jesus. We don’t have to allow those wrong thoughts to take residence in our heads. For the weapons of our warfare are . . . mighty before God. . . . [We] refute arguments and theories and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ . . . (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).
Today take courage in the Word of God because you are not alone. I have learned from the Word of God and life’s experiences that God’s Word is filled with power and will tear down the strongholds Satan has built in our minds.
As you go about your day, believe and walk in the power of God. Know that in all situations you are armed with the strength of God powered by the Holy Spirit living within you. Take charge today and be better about leading your heart and your thoughts, and bringing them into the captivity of being obedient to Christ.
