Storm Clouds
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you. Ephesians 4:31-32
According to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) a world record 48-hour rainfall of 98.15 inches happened on June 15-16, 1995, in Cherrapunji, India. This is a gentle reminder that the rain, storm clouds, they won’t last forever. Just as with the weather we ought to trust in God’s timing. God has created you with a destiny in mind. Psalm 47:4 says that God has ”chosen our inheritance for us.” That means it is providentially and custom tailored just for you! You’ve got to push through your rainy days to get through to your breakthrough on the other side.
We often can’t see with our natural eyes what God has planned. But when we have the heart of God and the eyes of faith, when we trust God, then the curtains of doubt are lifted and we realize the sun is shining again. Better days are ahead.
Today, if things don’t look promising, if everything seems rather stormy in your life, remember that God hasn’t left you. He is right there trying to tell you the rainbow isn’t far away. Just press on through. Your promise is waiting. Your breakthrough is wrapped up in His mind.
Prayer for today: Dearest Father Thank You for the cross and its power at work in my life today. I chose today to see through the clouds. I choose to put Jesus on the throne of my heart, to give Him first place. Please open the eyes of my heart that I may see You through the fog and live for only Your honor and for Your glory. In Jesus’ name I ask it, Amen.
