Everlasting flow
The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Isaiah 58:11
In South Africa September marks the beginning of Spring and with that all around you will find signs of new growth and new leaves emerging from seemingly dry branches, shrubs and dead trees. As you can imagine most people seeing this birth of new life come alive with a feeling of excitement centered on the new beginnings.
Many of us experience seasons in our lives too. When we go through a difficult or sad time, we refer to it as the dark days. Normally people see this as a time when they aren’t producing fruit and no growth is taking place. It`s a season we wish would end. We long for better and happier times to come because of feeling empty and worthless. But we can take a page out of the beauty that God has left us with called nature as a reminder this season won’t last forever, it too shall pass.
Through the changing seasons we can allow the Lord to do His greater work in our lives. We must learn to embrace the hard times in our lives as we do the good times. We can allow the Lord to bring inner healing and growth through them. Instead of pushing things away (like raking up the leaves), we should allow the Lord to help us deal with the issues we are faced with. God promises to work all things out for the good of those who love Him and above all desire His will (Romans 28:8).
Do you believe it?
Prayer for today: Dear Lord, thank You that the plans and purposes You have for me are always good. Please help me to embrace my seasons. Help me to deal with the issues I may be facing at the moment and trust that You will have the final say. I choose to trust You with my life and my circumstances. Regardless of what I am facing, may Your name be glorified in every season of my life. Amen.
