Promise Restoration
The sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying, “Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord. Jeremiah 33:11
I am sure many of you reading today can identify with the feeling of defeat. You’ve tried your best, given the situation your all and yet you still find yourself on the short end of the stick. This cannot be life. And on these days, I remind myself of the comforting words written in Jeremiah 33. In the NIV this passage is titled – Promise of Restoration.
“This is what the Lord says: ‘You say about this place, “It is a desolate waste, without people of animals.” Yet in the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted, inhabited by neither people nor animals, there will be heard once more the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those who bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord, saying “Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; His love endures forever.” For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were before,’ says the Lord.” Jeremiah 33:10-11
Jeremiah 33, speaks of a dry and desolate place. A place where there if no life. Yet it is in this place God promises to restore. He promises to bring back that which is dead. Restore that which is lost.
If you find yourself in this place today, know that God sees and He hears you.
