Be confident in the Lord
For the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared. Proverbs 3:26
When thinking of your qualities people used to describe you, is confidence one of these attributes? If so, where does that confidence come from? Have you wondered how did someone come to this conclusion? Does it come from what you do or what you possess? Does it come from your education, physic or physical ability or some other skill you have? Does it come from what other people think about you?
Now there is nothing wrong with these things. Being confident, but ultimately your confidence should come from ‘the Lord’. Those who see you as a firm foundation should understand that you are only able to stand firm because of the solid foundation on which you stand, which is Christ Jesus.
The writer of Proverbs says, ‘The Lord shall be your confidence’ (v.26a, AMP). The object of your faith is a person, ‘the Lord’. God is the one person you can totally trust in everything.
Prayer for today: Lord, thank You for being my strong foundation. For keeping me when I am weak. Help me to every day to live the life of faith – walking closely with You and putting my trust and confidence in You. .Amen
