God’s Peace
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
God is in control.
God is the authority over my life.
God remains in control.
Sometimes you just have to speak these words, repeat them over and over again to remind yourself of its truth. “God is in control.” It’s something our spiritual leaders would say whenever life gets out of control. And (while it sounds nice) it can be hard to live like it’s true when there’s so much to worry about.
Any shift in life can conjure up feelings of fear, anxiety and a whole host of negative emotions in our lives. So how do you process these thoughts without being paralyzed by them?
The key is recognizing God’s presence and authority in each of these situations. The key is written all throughout God’s Word but summarized here from Philippians 4:6-7 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Whatever storm you’re scared of right now, whatever’s making you worried or anxious, whatever is causing you to fear, just remember God is in control. Be reminded that Jesus is still here with you so you have nothing to fear. He’s in the boat with you. He’ll calm the wind and the waves. Whatever you’re worried about, He’s already handled it.
Today, think of one area of your life you’ve been worrying over. How can you give it to God today?
