Honoring the Mother in your life
Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Ephesians 4:15
God gave women the gift of mothering, what a blessing to all humankind! Those of us who have been privileged to have strong, dignified, and virtuous women in our lives know what a difference they can make. Those of us who are Mother’s (by birth or through actions of the heart) should also know the difference that we too will make one day in the life of someone else. Being a mother is a super power within itself. We tackle the joys, tantrums and heartbreaking moments of motherhood. Women continue to stand throughout the ages of time.
Unfortunately in today’s society women are struggling to stand against what has now become accepted as the norm. Parenting is both a tremendous blessing and also an incredible challenge! But God’s word offers hope that we are still responsible for training them up in the ways they should go so that when they are older they will not depart from it. This hope reminds us that even if your children are not at their best in the current they will eventually come around. The key to raising godly children is to first be godly parents. Our job as caregivers is to accurately represent God as our Father.
This Mother’s Day, I hope you will take the time to acknowledge the mother in your life. No she isn’t perfect, and maybe she didn’t do everything right, but she gave you life and if she is like most mothers, she sacrificed for you.
To all the mothers reading this today, I want to say thank you for all that you do. Our world cannot make it without you. Happy Mother’s Day.
