Monday Morning Manna
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. Psalm 46:5
Yesterday I felt lead to share my testimony to encourage Gods people during this time of uncertainty. Using four passages Psalm 46, Hebrews 11:1-3, Philippians 4:8 and, 2 Corinthians 10:5, I encouraged everyone to hold onto the Word of God during these uncertain times. For we know, Scripture says God has not given us the spirit of fear but one of Power, Love & a Sound mind. Even though things are changing all around us, we must understand during this chaos God still sits on the throne. In these moments, we must hold onto the Word of God.
The question is – what do we do when everything changes. In a matter of hours my life went from normal to chaos. Suddenly everything changed and what should have been routine wasn’t routine. It was in these moments I turned to Psalm 46.
Psalms 46 is a psalm that tells you what to do when trouble comes. Church we are in trouble but, we ought not to fear during these times we must hold onto faith (Hebrews 11:1-3). By faith, we know that God is in control. By faith even though we don’t see the outcome we know God is in control. We can withstand this time, well how do you know, well I have faith. The conditions are persisting but I still believe God.
It is imperative that the world sees us (the church) standing firm rooted and grounded in the truth of Gods. How? By focusing on the good. Philippians 4:8 admonishes us to “fix our thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” While we cannot control the conditions of life and the spread of the virus we can always control the atmosphere of your heart. And if you can learn how to speak peace to your heart you can have peace in the midst of any storm.
And finally is there is any thought, any person, or any social media status that exalts itself above the Word of God, 2 Corinthians tells us just how to handle it. It says “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
This week when the enemy tries to rob you of hope you, demolish, destroy, and cast down every argument. If you find yourself watching the news and it’s causing you to worry then it’s time to turn the news off! We take it out of our mind, remove it from our conversations, we don’t forward it in a text, we take it out and we destroy it! We demolish every argument and every pretention that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought make it obedient to Christ.
Believers if we are going to be brave and ride out this storm, we must be brave in the mind first. Hold onto the good for God is in your midst and we shall not be moved.
