God is Love  

But For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son so when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all.  John 3:16

Today is Valentine’s Day and with this day comes adventure, hope, and a lot of expectation. Why do men and women around the country secretly hope for something to arrive unexpectedly on that day? Well, it means that you’re special, chosen, picked out from the crowd, and noticed. We all want to be like that.

It got me thinking. That’s how the Lord is with us. God noticed us. He has picked us out of the crowd. He’s chosen us. John 3:16 says, “For God so loves the world, that He gave…” Again this is the love that God offers us. He also waits for us to pick Him; to tell Him that we’re giving ourselves to Him and Him alone.

God uses affectionate language towards us. He’s jealous for us and won’t share us. Even though we don’t deserve it – He woos us tenderly, and calls us back. Gods heart is for us. None of us is overlooked not just today but on any day of the year because God loves us! He longs for us – every day of the year. He longs for intimacy with us, longs for our devotion, our undivided adoration and submission to Him, and love.

Can we choose to respond again to that call today; to respond to His heart of love for us?
