The Savior of the world has come to us in the form of a babe. This should be a celebration like none other but it is not. The King of Kings is born in a manger with not so much as a bed to lie on. Yet these humble beginnings are encouragement to us to not lose hope. The humble beginnings of our Lord’s life remind us that we are to be humble and thankful for what we have been blessed with. It reminds us that our beginning may not always reflect our ending. The true meaning of Christmas is reflected so poetically in the story of Jesus’ birth that we cannot help but find ourselves grateful for all that was given to us on that day.

The last verse of the song asks the Lord to stay beside us, to lead us, and to eventually take us to Heaven to live with Him. How often is that our prayer? With all the challenges that we continue to face during these times, let us pray the Lord will stay beside me Lord as I make my way through this earthly life.

Tuesday, December 15 Advent – Born In A Manger While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son.
