Outside Voices <\/strong><\/p>\n

In that day, Israel, your cities will be rebuilt, and your borders will be extended. Micah 7:11<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a follower of Christ, we must grow to the point where outside influences no longer control the direction of our lives. If we belong to God, then He should be the greatest influence in our decisions, our priorities, and our purpose. We must become people who know what God has called us to do and are willing to remain faithful to that calling.<\/p>\n

That means becoming God-pleasers rather than people-pleasers. We cannot fulfill God’s purpose for our lives if we are constantly seeking the approval of everyone around us. Sometimes following God will require us to say no to distractions, walk away from certain things, change our priorities, or take a step that others may not understand.<\/p>\n

So, what move do you need to make today? What decision could become the catalyst for something greater in your life? Is there a distraction you need to eliminate? Is there something taking your attention away from God? Is there a step of obedience you have been putting off?<\/p>\n

Whatever it is, don’t just think about it. Do it.<\/p>\n

Set your mind on things above. Give God your undivided attention. Eliminate the distractions and make room for what God wants to do in your life. You cannot move forward while constantly looking backward, and you cannot fully pursue God’s purpose while allowing distractions to determine your direction. Today, choose your direction. Set your mind on God, take the next step, and trust Him with what comes next.<\/p>\n

Prayer for today<\/strong>: Dear God, help me become more focused on You and less concerned with the opinions and expectations of others. Teach me to be a God-pleaser and to faithfully follow the purpose You have placed within me. Show me the step I need to take today. Give me the courage to take it, even if it is uncomfortable or unfamiliar. Help me eliminate the distractions and give You my undivided attention. I trust You with my future, my purpose, and my next step. In Jesus’ name, Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n
