We must recognize the voices that attempt to pull us away from the truth of God’s Word. We must silence the lies and embrace the liberating truth of what God says about us, our circumstances, and our future. We must learn to live out truth regardless of what is happening around us. Looking at the storyline in Numbers 20, we can understand the tools the enemy uses to distract and discourage us, but we have a greater weapon that will help us to overcome, and that is dependence on the Lord.

God never asked you to accomplish His purposes without Him. He asks you to trust Him. So what are you trusting in today? Is it the rod or the Rock? Are you relying on your ability, your experience, your resources, your position, or your own strength? Or are you depending upon God?

Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 10:11: “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition…” When the pressure is on, go back to the Word. When the need is great, go back to the Provider. When you feel unqualified, go back to the One who called you. When you are discouraged, go back to the God who has never failed you. Today, choose dependence. Trust His plan. Trust His timing. Trust His Word. Trust His presence. You may not know how God will provide, but you can know who your Provider is.

Prayer for today: Heavenly Father, help me to trust You when I am facing a deficit, when disappointment begins to settle into my heart, and when discouragement tells me that I am not enough. When I feel overwhelmed, teach me to depend on You. When I feel unqualified, remind me that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Today, I choose to trust You.
