Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him. Psalm 40:3

There is a moment when your story becomes more than just a story. It becomes worship. Psalm 40:3 says: “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.” When you look back at where you started and realize how far God has brought you, you begin to understand that your life itself can become a testimony of His goodness. You don’t need a microphone, a platform, or a large audience. You simply need to remember what God has done.

God gave David a new song because God had brought him through something and sometimes the song God puts in our hearts comes from a place of deep struggle. The praise we offer today may have been born from yesterday’s pain. The gratitude we have today may have been formed during seasons when we had nothing but faith. The confidence we have today may have come from moments when we were completely dependent on God.

That is why your testimony matters, you may look at your story and see mistakes but God can show you redemption. Your testimony isn’t about pretending that everything you’ve experienced was good. It’s about recognizing that God was good even when life was not. That distinction matters. We don’t have to glorify the difficult season, but we can give praise to the One who sustained us through it.

The song I Thank God reminds us to celebrate what God has done to recognize the transformation that happens when God steps into our story.

Maybe there are still prayers you are waiting for God to answer, but you’re not where you used to be. God has been working and that deserves praise. Sometimes the greatest praise you can give God is to look at everything you’ve been through and still say: “God, I thank You.”

Prayer for today: Loving Father, Lord Jesus, thank You for my story. Thank You for every chapter, the good ones, the beautiful ones, the difficult ones, the ugly ones, the chapters I understood and the ones I didn’t. Thank You for never leaving me in any of them. Help me see my life through the lens of Your grace. Where I see how far I still have to go, remind me of how far You have already brought me. Give me the courage to share what You have done not to glorify myself, but to glorify Your name and encourage someone who may be walking through a similar season. Thank You for what You are doing. And thank You that my story is still being written by You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Wednesday, September 30 My Testimony Is My Worship He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.
