Whether through nature, people, a timely word, or seemingly random occurrences, God is constantly at work, reminding us of His presence, His love, and His faithfulness in ways we may not always recognize at first. But when you are in the middle of a crisis, what you believe right now matters. Hebrews 11:1 begins with two powerful words: “Now faith is…” Faith is what you hold on to in this present moment. It is what gives you the courage to keep standing when everything around you tells you to give up. It is trusting God when you don’t have all the answers and believing He is working even when you cannot see what He is doing.

In her song Believe For It, CeCe Winans reminds us that our faith is not limited by what we see or by what others say is possible:

“Move the immovable

Break the unbreakable

God, we believe

God, we believe for it.”

As believers, the Bible tells us not to “look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen (2 Corinthians 4:18). “Now” faith stakes its claim on “something…even if we do not see it” (Heb 11:1). When I am overwhelmed by what I see, help me remember who You are. When circumstances seem immovable, remind me that nothing is too difficult for You. When I cannot see the way forward, give me the faith to take the next step. Lord, strengthen my now faith. Help me not to live by what I see, but to trust You for what I cannot yet see. Today, I believe. God, I believe for it. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Monday, September 7 Believe For It Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
