The Goodness of God <\/strong><\/p>\n

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. \u00a0<\/em>Psalm 23:6<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI love You, Lord, for Your mercy never fails me.\u201d<\/em> There are songs we sing because they sound beautiful, and then there are songs we sing because they tell the truth about our lives. \u201cGoodness of God\u201d is one of those songs. CeCe Winans\u2019 rendition invites us to look back over our lives and recognize something we can so easily miss while we are living through the moment: God has been good to us all along.<\/p>\n

Sometimes His goodness is obvious. We see it in answered prayers, unexpected blessings, open doors, restored relationships, and moments of joy that arrive when we least expect them. But sometimes God’s goodness looks different. Sometimes it looks like strength to get through another day. Sometimes it is the person who calls at exactly the right moment. Sometimes it is a door that closes when we desperately wanted it to open. Sometimes it is simply the grace to keep going when we cannot yet understand what God is doing.<\/p>\n

All the days of my life. Not just the good days. Not just the days when everything makes sense. Not just the seasons when our prayers are answered the way we hoped. All the days.<\/p>\n

God’s goodness follows us into the uncertainty, into the waiting, into the grief, into the change, and into the seasons we never would have chosen for ourselves. When we look back over our lives, we may see seasons we would never want to repeat. Yet even there, we may find evidence of His faithfulness. His mercy met us. His grace sustained us. His love pursued us. Perhaps that is why the song’s declaration is so powerful: \u201cAll my life You have been faithful. All my life You have been so, so good.\u201d Look closely. You may discover that God’s goodness has been woven through your entire story. God has been faithful. God is faithful. And whatever tomorrow holds, His goodness will meet us there. \u201cYour goodness is running after, it’s running after me.\u201d <\/em>And perhaps the greatest gift is realizing that we don’t have to spend our lives chasing after God. His goodness has been chasing after us.<\/p>\n

Prayer for today<\/strong>: Great God, Mighty Creator, we stand in awe of Your greatness and power. As we sing “all my life You have been faithful, when we look back and see the many ways You\u2019ve come through for us. \u00a0May our voices rise in joyful praise, and may our lives reflect Your glory.
