Revelation is essential. But God is all-knowing, and He can see what we cannot see. He knows what we cannot know. He understands what lies beyond our limited perspective. The issue isn&#8217;t whether we should think. The issue is whether we invite God into our thinking. For this reason, Proverbs 3:5 tells us to &#8220;Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Joshua was not foolish. He was an experienced leader. Yet even wise people can be deceived when they rely solely on their own understanding. Discernment is not simply intelligence. It is not education, experience, or information alone. Discernment is seeing a situation from God&#8217;s perspective.<\/p>\n<p>The enemy often disguises temptation as opportunity, compromise as wisdom, and distraction as success. He rarely presents deception as deception. That is why we need the Holy Spirit&#8217;s guidance.<\/p>\n<p>God is not merely protecting us from bad things. He is often protecting us from convincing things.<\/p>\n<p>As we head into the weekend, I invite you to consider these questions:<\/p>\n<p>Are there voices competing for your attention?<\/p>\n<p>What important decision needs God&#8217;s counsel right now?<\/p>\n<p>Have you invited God into your decision-making process?<\/p>\n<p>What might happen if you paused and prayed before proceeding?<\/p>\n<p>How do you recognize God&#8217;s leading?<\/p>\n<p>Where do you need greater discernment today?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today: <\/strong><em>Holy Spirit, sharpen my discernment. Help me recognize truth from deception and wisdom from distraction. Teach me to hear Your voice clearly and follow Your leading faithfully.
