{"id":4443,"date":"2026-04-14T02:19:55","date_gmt":"2026-04-14T02:19:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/?p=4443"},"modified":"2026-04-05T23:23:52","modified_gmt":"2026-04-05T23:23:52","slug":"the-prerequisite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornerstonecem.org\/blog\/the-prerequisite\/","title":{"rendered":"The Prerequisite"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Tuesday, April 14<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Prerequisite <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, you heard from me. <\/em><strong>Acts 1:4, ESV<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before the disciples were sent, they were told to wait. \u201cDo not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised\u2026\u201d That feels almost backward, doesn\u2019t it? Jesus had given them the mission to go, to make disciples, to carry His message to the world. But before they could step into it, there was a prerequisite, they had to wait for The Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>They were not to move ahead in excitement, passion, or even obedience until they were first empowered.<\/p>\n<p>Because the truth is simple: Without the Holy Spirit, the mission of Jesus becomes human effort. Therefore, we are sometimes called to wait. Waiting isn\u2019t wasted time.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s preparation.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s dependence.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s trust.<\/p>\n<p>Because what He has called us to do cannot be sustained by our own strength. So today, I invite you to wait. Do not rush ahead. Instead pause. Wait. Make space for the Holy Spirit to fill you before you try to move for Him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer for today:<\/strong> <em>Holy Spirit, teach me to wait on You. Help me not to rush ahead in my own strength. Fill me, prepare me, and lead me before I step into what You\u2019ve called me to do.
