The Psalmist declares \u2018<em>My help comes from the Lord who made the heavens and the earth<\/em>\u2019 (Psalm 121:2). In verse 2 he continues, \u2018<em>The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade<\/em>\u2019, and in verse 8 he says, \u2018<em>The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever<\/em>\u2019. Consider the lyrics taken from My Help (Commeth from the Lord) by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>I will lift up mine eyes to the hills<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>From whence cometh my help<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>My help cometh from the Lord<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The Lord which made heaven and earth<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>He said he would not suffer thy foot<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Thy foot to be moved<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The Lord which keepeth thee<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>He will not slumber nor sleep<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Oh the Lord is thy keeper<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>The Lord is thy shade<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Upon thy right hand<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Upon thy right hand<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>No, the sun shall not smite thee by day<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Nor the moon by night<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>He shall preserve thy soul<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Even forever more<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>My help, my help, my help<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>All of my help cometh from the Lord<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Bible makes it clear that, whatever the challenges or difficulties we have to face, if we look to God with sincerity and right motives, and we\u2019re walking in obedience to His Word, the first verse of Psalm 46 will become a reality in our lives \u2018God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wednesday, August 12 My Help \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My help will come from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
