She was an orphan, raised by her cousin Mordecai. Suddenly she found herself queen but silent about who she really was. The Amplified Version of the bible explains it this way “For if you remain silent at this time, liberation and rescue will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish [since you did not help when you had the chance]. And who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this [and for this very purpose]?” – Esther 4:14, AMP. Sometimes in life we will find ourselves in uncomfortable situations, but like Esther who knows if we aren’t there for such a time as this.

Her flaw? Fear and hesitation. Her struggle? Risking comfort to walk in purpose.

Esther is dealing with a classic Imposter Syndrome, not sure of who she is and where in life she stands. When Haman plotted to destroy the Jews, Esther faced a defining moment. Mordecai told her: “Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Purpose often interrupts comfort. Despite what you feel, you will step out on a limb trusting God. Yes, approaching the king uninvited could have cost her life. But Esther choose courage over fear. In the end she said, “If I perish, I perish.” Because of her obedience, a nation was saved.

You may feel hidden. Overlooked. Positioned quietly. But in this Year of Purpose, remember, you are placed strategically. Your influence is intentional. Your moment will come. When it does, what will you choose?

Prayer for today: Lord, when fear tempts me to stay silent, give me boldness to speak. When comfort tries to hold me hostage, remind me of my calling. Thank You for positioning me strategically even when I don’t fully understand where I am or why. Help me to recognize that I am here “for such a time as this.” Use my influence for Your glory.
